Objective: |
To test the
whitening efficacy of GO SMILE
system |
|
Methods: |
Subjects were
randomly assigned in parallel groups
to GoSMILE or to a placebo and
evaluated using the Vita Shade Guide
on the six maxillary anterior teeth.
Subjects were instructed to use the
product according to manufacturer
instructions for fourteen days. The
same test was repeated at a later
date (test A and test B). |

Results: |
The 14-day
shade change experienced with
GoSMILE ranged from +4 to +8 with an
average of 6.83 vs. +0.2 for the
control group In 7 days, GoSMILE
resulted in a 1-6 shade change. The
difference in average shade change
among the two sexes was extrapolated
from the data and females averaged
1.5 shade changes higher than males
possibly due to compliance. The same
test was done at a different time
with an average shade change result
of+5.63. |

Conclusions: |
Use of the
GoSMILE take-home whitening system
resulted in significant tooth
whitening as compared to the placebo
with minimal reported sensitivity
and high rate of subject
satisfaction. |
